EditShare EMEA is proud to say that some of the biggest and most successful films have been edited with its full-featured, professional, and powerful editor – Lightworks. The simple truth of the matter is that Lightworks has a lot to offer: flexible layout, multi-channel audio mixer, background import, render and export engine, full effect adjustment, comprehensive multi-layered timeline, and more.

Lightworks is available for Linux and it is also available for Microsoft’s Windows operating system (32 as well as 64-bit editions of the OS are supported).

The recommended system requirements for running Lightworks on a Windows PC are: i7 processor or better, 3GB or RAM memory or more, two high-resolution monitors, PCI Express graphics card with 1GB of memory or more and support for DirectX 9, Windows compatible sound card and audio monitoring system, at least 200MB of free disk space, internet connection (to activate Lightworks).

To get started with Lightworks on your Windows-powered PC you must perform two tasks:
1 – Install the application. Just download an installer, run it, and follow the instructions presented by a setup wizard.
2 – Sign into your account. When you launch Lightworks for the first time, you will be provided with instructions on how to create and confirm a new account. After you confirm your account, you will be invited to check out some video tutorials; they will help you get up to speed with the functionality Lightworks has to offer.

Speaking about functionality, Lightworks has a lot to offer: multi-layered timeline; contextual quick-access menus for presets and FX; clip-based audio editing; multi-channel audio mixer; numerous effects and templates; playback your project; easy access to advanced tools; powerful render and export engine; color correction; support for third party applications; numerous formats are supported for the input and output; and more.

Lightworks is available as a Free and as a Pro edition. The following features are available only in Lightworks Pro: full range of output formats, project sharing, hardware I/O support, interoperability, stereoscopic output, timeline rendering. A chart that details the differences between the two editions is available here.

Lots of powerful editing functions are offered by Lightworks, a full-featured, Hollywood-strength editor for Windows and Linux.
